This seems odd to me since the game does have a German language version and the only difference is supposed to be the subtitles and language sound files (possibly the names of some items from what others have said in other threads). However, there are some he is not able to recognize and repeat, such as John Doe. Codsworth is capable of recognizing many of the names above and combining them when spoken.
